Q, How much are lessons? – A, £15 per half hour.
Q,  Do I have to sign a contract or book a course of lessons? -  A, No.
Q,  Do I have to pay in advance? – A, All we ask is that at your first lesson you pay for that one, plus if you intend to continue, pay for the next one in advance. If you subsequently need to cancel, give us a minimum of 24 hours notice and you’ll retain your credit for the re-scheduled lesson.
Q, How many students share a lesson? – A, None, as we teach on a one to one basis.
Q, Are teaching staff DBS (formerly CRB) checked? – A, absolutely.
Q, Should parents accompany their child? – A, We encourage parents to bring their child to each lesson so that the teacher can tell you about their progress and to address any areas that may need a little extra work. We don’t believe you should sit in on the lesson though, as experience has shown that most students become self-conscious and don’t learn as well.
Q, Am I too old to start drumming? – A, No No No! We know many people who only started drumming after they retired from full time work and found they now had the time to indulge their passion.
Q, Is my child too young to start learning?-A, We, and our teachers, tend to recommend that children begin to take lessons from the ages of 7-8 upwards. Whilst there are no set rules to say otherwise, we find that this is the optimum age, as they are better able to focus, concentrate and retain the information they have picked up throughout the lesson.
Q, Can I take exams?– A, Certainly, if you want to. It’s your choice whether to take exams such as Rockschool and Trinity Guildhall. We’ll guide you all the way and make sure you have the skills to pass with flying colours. Grades 6 and above carry UCAS points, important for anyone wanting to go to university.
Q, How long does it take to learn? – A, Impossible to say as everybody is different and learns at their own pace. Of course, we aim to get you playing as quickly as possible, but without cutting any corners. Our tuition is one to one and tailored to you personally.
